2 additional drivers permitted at no extra charge.

Driving Area Restrictions

There are no restrictions on driving area. Our customers can even drive to our neighbour countries of Belize and Guatemala, with prior notice before arrival.

Payment Methods

Continental Rent a Car accepts the following methods of payment: Cash, Debit Card, Traveller’s Cheques, VISA, Master Card, AMEX and  Cash Deposit Rentals.

Cash Deposit Rentals

When performing a Cash Deposit rental, the following are the amounts required for each vehicle:

For mini economy to compact vehicles: $600.00 usd.
For mid-size to intermediate vehicles: $700.00 usd.
For full size and 4 wheel drives or sport convertible vehicles:
$800.00 usd.
For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans: $1,000.00 usd.

The customer must also leave his/her original passport as a guarantee, returned upon car drop-off.

Insurance Policies

In case of an accident, our insurance company requires that the drivers´ name must be specified in the rental agreement, therefore, all drivers must be authorized and have their names printed on the rental agreement. All authorized drivers must show a valid and current driver’s licence or permit with photograph. Also, in case of an accident, in order to validate any insurance, driver must first call our company so we can send immediately our insurance agent to the place of the accident. All insurance rates are in USD.

CDW  - Collision Damage Waiver

FDW - Extended Protection Coverage

CDW insurance is already included in your rate.

Full coverage is provided with ZERO DEDUCTIBLE FEE in case of theft or losses and damages, partial or complete, done to the rented vehicle in case of an accident or theft.

CDW does not cover theft of accessories. CDW is not refundable and the coverage only applies within Mexico’s territory.

CDW is a damage or theft insurance for the rented vehicle only.

PAI  - Personal Accident Insurance

PAI insurance is already included in your rate.

The cost for PAI for mini economy to full size and 4 wheel drive vehicles is:
$5.50 per day

For mini vans, 8 & 12 passenger vans is:
$7.00 per day

PAI covers medical expenses and ambulance service, doctors and hospital expenses in case of an accident. Coverage is up to $30,000 usd. per accident or event, limited to the allowed passenger capacity of the rented vehicle.

The coverage only applies within Mexico’s territory.
PAI is a personal accident insurance for the occupants of the rented vehicle.

PLI  - Primary Liability Insurance

PLI insurance is already included in your rate.

PLI covers up to $80,000 usd. for liabilities caused by accident related expenses and legal assistance, when liability for other vehicles or people have been caused by the driver of the rented vehicle.

Does not cover damages made to the rented vehicle nor medical expenses for its passengers.

The coverage only applies within Mexico´s territory.

Refund Policy

Before picking up the vehicle:

There is no charge for refunds, since we never charge before the customer actually picks up the car. Therefore there is no cost for cancelled reservations.

After picking up the vehicle:

If for any reason the customer returns the vehicle before the stated date of return in the rental agreement, a reimbursement for the rental fee will proceed, however, the cost of the insurances and taxes is not refundable.
